Welcome and introduction: Uwe Brockhausen, Mayor of the District, Dr. Sabine Ziegenrücker, Head of the Art and History Department Reinickendorf, Ricarda Vinzing, Head of Graphothek Berlin
A wide range of new acquisitions of current artistic positions enrich the collection of the Graphothek Berlin again this year. From February 8, the exhibition at Rathaus Reinickendorf will present a selection of mainly serial works from the fields of drawing, painting, photography and printmaking.
In addition to freer, abstract works by Ev Pommer and Agathe de Bailliencourt, compositions by Pedro Boese are also on display, experimenting with the fragmentation of simple geometric forms and the intensity of cold-warm contrasts.
In addition to these color-intensive works, filigree drawings by Beate Spitzmüller, who explores the themes of movement, rhythm and time in extensive serial works, and industrial photographs by Petra Lehnardt-Olm, which show various places in Reinickendorf from unusual, exciting perspectives, have also been purchased. Annette Frick's photographs, which were taken around the turn of the millennium in Berlin's queer subculture, are certainly a highlight of the presentation. The photograph “Wigstöckel” from 1996 was donated by the “Freunde der Graphothek Berlin” association.
Also on display are graphic works by Elvira Bach, Linda McCue, Hanna Hennenkemper, Ina Lindemann, Roman Moriceau, Dasha Shishkin, Claus Georg Stabe, Marcus Weber and Beate Wassermann.
All the works presented will be available for loan in the Graphothek after the end of the exhibition.
