Opening: 14. 10. 2005
Duration: 15. 10. - 12. 11.2005
Duo show: Pedro Boese / Jürgen Kellig
“(…) Pedro Boese's large-format paintings open up a colouristic universe. Discs of colour of different sizes and hues crowd the picture surface. They seem to rise up weightlessly, slide back from the edges into the centre and overlap. A constant, simultaneous shifting of forms without hierarchy takes place before our eyes.
The entire diversity of the colour spectrum is fanned out here. Red, yellow and blue are represented in numerous, finely graduated variations, either modulated towards the other basic colour or altered by white and black. Each of the valeurs only appears once in the picture, and the impression of polychromy is ensured by the disparate arrangement of the tones. Any tonal tendency is avoided. The aim is the totality of colours represented in each picture. The title One, which Pedro Boese uses for his cycle of paintings and watercolours, hints at this. (…)”
