In my paintings and prints, I deal with the geometric form, the color and the background, which becomes visible in its structure through omissions and the removal of color. This interplay creates a tension between formal integrity and its dissolution.

For some years now, I have been using fragmented circular slices arranged along a grid to create my paintings. There is the possibility of creating a rapport or undermining it. The reduced formal language and the systematic approach allow me to focus on the color effect.

I was born in Mozambique and spent my childhood in Lisbon. I studied painting at the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts, NL, and then continued my studies at the Institute for Art in Context, UdK Berlin. Since 2019 I have been running the workshop for intaglio printing at the Weissensee Kunsthochschule Berlin.
